Mentally Restarted

Trying to have the mind figure out reality is like having trying to go back in time to your youth; both are impossible. The mind chatter that plays an endless loop of condemnation, fear, worthlessness while you are trying to make it through your day is not your friend. The mind is a fine tool for logical tasks like your house budget and grocery list, planning a vacation or your next purchase, but not so good for understanding your true Self, your timeless aware consciousness. This post looks at concepts that have no mind as there is no one here to have a mind about a concept :-)

After a length of time, the noise and confusion of the mind either leads one down a very limited and lousy path or it gives up and the real truth about who you really are without falseness. Sure, it's good to recharge the batteries, get away, treat yourself to a blow off day or a spa day, but you will eventually have to face your true purpose for being here at some point. The sooner the better. You can get mentally restarted by realizing that you are not your mind. You are not your body or the roles you take on to be taken as an individual in this world. You are not even an individual. My Zen and Advaita peeps-ya know it.

While watching my 5-year old Godson getting his bubble bath, it struck me as a moment of clarity about our search for meaning. While he was searching for a toy amongst the billowing, fragrant white bubbles he began to wave away a section of the bubbles in front of him to see where the toy, his objective, might be. As he waved is arms, removing the bubbles and revealing the clear surface of the water, he was able to pluck the toy from the bottom and continue on playing. Too obvious? Yeah, but it bears mentioning. When we are able to clear away the temporary surface distractions from out lives, the bubbles, we can see through with clarity by sweeping away what obscures reality beneath the surface.

The true Self is waiting for that discovery to remember what it always is and was, the 'you' that is not defined by the limited roles played in our waking moments. The true Self is the awakened awareness in the present moment-pure consciousness joined to the universal consciousness and found by self inquiry through different methods. The one used in this sense is asking sincerely 'Who Am I? Who is this 'I'? Can this ''I” who is aware of itself notice that it is also being observed? By whom?

Inquiring into the sense of 'I Am' can bring an observation of clear awareness and reveal what it is you are not. The real nature in you is

A Different Kind of Normal

Psiplex is a chunk of consciousness having fun in the creative impulse happily creating and sharing poetry, music and graphics while deepening in love, awareness, awakening and the true Self. This post explores the roles or non roles we often mistake for our 'self', our reality or the 'me' we take ourselves to be. In discovering our true nature which is love, there are amazing observations to make and a connectedness to the One. The universe comes out to meet you when you make the first move toward the universe :-)

One person in my life whom epitomizes the perfectly natural and sublime 'do less' philosophy, (in a good way) is Pyut. He has always been a friend to admire especially for that. In a kind of perpetual Zen Chill mode, my friend Pyut the Ironman, real name Doug, is a personal iconic figure for being able to do life with less. Not so much in a material sense, although that is the case, but with less baggage and self flagellation than most. Pyut is one of the kindest, gentlest souls in my world and continues to remind that the importance in life is having an agenda to achieve less, do less and be less. Just from example, not by preaching, Pyut has got Zen Chill on lock. A lot to be said for it and a lot less pressure to be in contention with some illusionary lifestyle. As a chef, musician an artist, Pyut has this way of inspiring without being in the way. He can just float a cool vibe and share it. Shout out Pyut!

Battling Cancer Update

After renewed chemotherapy with Erbitux, the initial report is some of the tumors detected in the left lung have shrunk but one is stubbornly not shrinking. Something the oncologist is watching is spot on the liver which is new. So,keeping an eye on things in general. next-what to do about the hip joint and those nodules. Always something moving with cancer- have to be real alert and proactive.

Comes out of nowhere arising from nothing into consciousness as a the bounty of creativity, the creative and universal spark. A compulsion that arises within the being to express the life force welling and spilling on to the medium of choice. This is to be freely given, given full voice and enjoyed as a non-personal sharing with all connectedness without a stamp of 'I did this', entitlement or ownership. It is the acknowledgment of life and Life's use of the being to pipe the inspiration to those able to receive it. It is a celebration that ends in sharing and giving what is the very best of the moments of inspiration. A burst like a sudden summer storm flashes across the consciousness and it is a mad dash for paper, pencil, computer or instrument that will allow the burst to be affixed to a tangible medium and spread out to all those for whom it was meant to encounter. Battling Cancer Update

After renewed chemotherapy with Erbitux, the initial report from this week's CT scan reveals some progress. There is noticeable shrinkage of the tumors detected in the lungs and neck from December's scan. This means that chemotherapy can be continued and modified to shrink and or eradicate the tumors. The spread of cancer to the hip/back is going to be the next treatment battle. Will keep updates going throughout.

Projections

: Inner harmony, peace, wisdom, awareness, stillness, space and the obligation to give freely from what is received. To incorporate all blessing, prayers, wishes and goodwill sent this way and to return it in music, poetry, prose and images that may do the same for another. As Damian Marley says: “More love, more life, more solidarity”.

As long as we do not lose site that we are part of the connected Source, we will be alright. Remembering that the Source is dancing us, there is less pressure to prop up the role of one who is in hardship. The soul is not in hardship, our mental position of who we are,and what we 'should' be bringing home is impacted. Our changeless, impersonal self that is connected to all life will always be-perfect. Nothing to be done but surrender and accept what is. Good to be back to work as an employee of the universe.

It makes for a tidy production flow and keeps all the fun intact by focusing on content rather than hoops to jump through.

Over the course of the last month or so, it has been a lot of fun to share with you some observations on life in the form of photos, prose and poetry. The Phrase series is an assemled ongoing collection of these observations that I hope you enjoy. The cool thing about using ISSUU is that the PDF files created can be uploaded and shared to view, print locally, embed in web pages and download. It looks like you are flipping through a book with a lot of options to zoom in, zoom out on images or text and to scroll through pages in an intuitive manner.

As for adding audio to your ISSUU document, you just have to have an audio clip, like an MP3 file on a server with the absolute URL ready to go. During upload, expand the media tab or go to my library, select one of your documents, and press edit. Expand the media tab and enter a url for the a playlist (m3u) or a single mp3. Press 'test' to verify and the save. You can see an example of a poem I created called '

Dribbling'

with an MP3 instrumental added, just look for the little speaker icon to turn it on and off. This is useful if you want to add your voice to a document that better explains your content. You can also add video to documents in a similar manner.

Hope you get a chance to see what ISSUU can do for your projects, share your experiences here and make some comments. I am more than happy to share with you how I created these documents, exported as PDF files and uploaded and tagged the series. ISSUU has made it all very simple and quick.

Over the course of producing music and massive amounts of alpha waves, good vibes and joy, this collection has been the most fun. Wanted to share this as a PDF or as the embedded display below. There's also a couple of other favorite things in there that are highly W00terrific.

Although the music gear brings about joy, all true joy comes from within as one follows what is in their true nature. Rather than finding joy and happiness outside of you, it happens when you are doing what is effortless and enjoyable. Additionally, there wouldn't have been any great music moments to use this gear with without the incredible group of musicians I had the honor of jamming with over the years. Amidst the rush

of worldly

comings and goings

Let your heart be at peace.

observe how endings become beginnings.

Things flourish, each by each,

only to return to the Source...

to what is and what is to be.

To return to the root is to find peace.

To find peace is to fulfill one's destiny

To fulfill one's destiny is to be constant.

To know the constant is called insight.

Not knowing this cycle

leads to eternal disaster.

Knowing the constant gives perspective.

This perspective is impartial.

Impartiality is the highest nobility;

the highest nobility is Divine.

Being Divine, you will be at one with the Tao.

Being at one with the Tao is eternal.

This way is everlasting,

not endangered by physical death.

What a wonderful way to contemplate our true nature in this play of existence. Seems a lot of the awakened sages and masters had a unified knowledge that all comes from the Source. FUD Levels

FUD – Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt are in no short supply in your real and virtual space. It crawls through every medium and water cooler conversation with its message of separateness, divisiveness and unusual personal complexities. It is a contagion that is big business for media, a scourge for souls and fodder for the mischievous and deceiptful.

pposite corner of the garden, between infinities, there is a need for one to examine what is true and right and eternal. False gods, ennui and the New Bogus that pass for reality are only ripples of our broiling illusionary false ideals, our steaming pile of FUD.

Fearing and wanting as primary motivating forces are not what leads to clarity, sanity and peace. Both macro and micro views of what we believe is reality contribute only to what is essentially h

idden from yourself. You true self has no need of FUD, doesn't produce it, and doesn't apply it. Your true nature is not fear or lack or anxiousness although acted out, your true nature is rooted in love. Recommend watching the

', there is need for recognition that the roles you play and the identity you carry is not your true self.

Only Divine love an comprehend what we are in and out of the duality of existence and bringing us through grace to Oneness. Harmony truly comes when there is a disconnect with a natural state of living, an everyday world through pain, suffering, tragedy, loss, etc. Divine love and harmony are there always waiting to bring us to the reality of the Source, the unchanging and eternal.

Medical Brief and Decisions

The PET Scan taken on December 15, 2008 determined that indeed, the cancer nodules are very aggressive and spreading. Since the diagnosis exactly one year ago, it is fascinating, in a disjointed way, to see how cancer moves so fast in the body. Essentially, the

traces the intravenously injected sugar to see where it binds to. The place with the most sugar collected is inspected for cancer which feeds off sugar (in part, although this is way more complicated).

The decision now is to see what can be done to isolate and treat nodules that are starting to split off and spread and to find the best manner for this. In the meantime, hospitalization has been the best course in combatting the

CDIF

infection incurred as a result of

antiobiotic colitis

which is seven kinds of nasty. The extreme diarrhea caused by CDIF and the weight loss on an already weak immune system is pretty rough. Pain management is another concern. Getting these two complications under control was the main thrust this week. More consultations this week and more chemo on the way.
